Since forming in 2011, the Electrically Based Engineering Student Society (EBESS) has expanded to a community of over 850 students within the University of Queensland representing students from the following engineering disciplines:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical & Biomedical Engineering
  • Electrical & Computer Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering

Tailored Events

For students, EBESS offers professional networking opportunities, academic support and social events to nurture their talents and potential.

EBESS strives to provide engaging events throughout the year to help ease the daunting study load of engineering, at the same time conducting workshops and seminars to equip students with the soft skills and people skills. A list of planned events can be found here.

Get involved

EBESS falls under the umbrella of The Engineering Undergraduate Society (EUS) and hosts yearly elections to determine the Executive.

We love having people volunteer to help out with EBESS throughout the year and it is a good way to get to know the executive. Below you can also find the most recent version of our constitution.
